Professor Marcus Farr is 2018 NCARB Scholar, developing best practices for architectural education in Washington D.C.

Professor Marcus Farr is a member of the inaugural NCARB Scholars in Professional Practice Program with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. During this program, 10 professors from around the country will convene in Washington, D.C. to develop best practices in architectural education.


Through presentations and interactive sessions, attendees explore teaching techniques outside their typical approach and critically examine the content and teaching of professional practice topics.


Scholars will explore several topics related to teaching & professional practice, including:

  • The future of academia and practice

  • Ethics in architecture

  • Teaching methods

  • Curriculum development
